Welcome!!
I’m so honored you’re here. Truly — it means the world to me that you’ve chosen me to document this season of your life. I don’t take that lightly. I know your time and investment are incredibly valuable, and my goal is to give you an experience that feels effortless, meaningful, and even fun (yes, fun — I promise!). So many families tell me afterward how surprised they were at how relaxed and enjoyable the session felt. That’s always my hope — for you to feel held, seen, and completely yourself. Take a few moments to read through the info below so you feel as prepared as possible heading into your session. And if you have any questions along the way, I’m just an email away. Be sure to scroll all the way down to find the section that matches the type of session we’ve planned together. I can’t wait to document your story — just as you are, with so much love.

Your Family Session
You booked your session...so now what?
First of all — I’m so excited! Truly. I can’t wait to spend time with you and your loved ones, documenting your connection in a way that feels honest and real. Between now and your session, we’ll connect via email to chat about location options, wardrobe ideas, and anything else that’s on your mind. You’re never bothering me with questions — I’m here to help every step of the way. One of the beautiful things about lifestyle family photography is that it doesn’t just show what you look like — it captures who you are in this season of life. I take a storytelling, documentary-style approach, using natural light and lots of intuition to create images that feel like you. My goal isn’t perfection or stiff poses — it’s connection, emotion, and moments that will feel like home every time you look at them. Below are some tips to help you feel confident and prepared heading into your session:
Location
We’ll decide on a location that feels like you. Some families choose their own home — which I love, as it adds an intimate, cozy, deeply personal layer to your story. As long as you have good natural light, we can absolutely shoot at home. I also have a few outdoor locations that I like to shoot at. I love and am always open to exploring somewhere new. We’ll talk through it all together.
Session Time
Lighting plays a huge role in how your images look and feel. If we’re shooting at home, late morning usually works best when the natural light is soft and beautiful. That of course is not the rule. If you love the way they light shines in your home in the evening, that may be the best time for you. For outdoor sessions, I’ll guide you toward early morning at sunrise, or that magical golden hour before sunset. I know evening sessions can be a stretch with little ones, but many families tell me that a late nap or some downtime beforehand works wonders — and the dreamy light is so worth it.
Session Length
Most sessions last about an hour. That’s plenty of time for us to capture a beautiful, full gallery without anyone feeling overwhelmed.
What to wear
Wear what feels good and true to you. Comfort over perfection, always. Make sure whatever you choose, you can move comfortably and freely in. For moms, (and daughters) I do really love a flowy dress. This adds dynamic movement and visual interest to photos. But again, wear what feels good to you. I recommend coordinating rather than matching — think soft, earthy tones or layers of texture that photograph beautifully. If you’d like help deciding, I’m happy to offer feedback.
Props
I don’t typically use props during sessions, but if you have something meaningful in mind, just let me know — I’m always open to incorporating what matters most to you.
Your Children
Please don’t stress about your little ones "behaving" or smiling on command — I’m here to meet them exactly where they are. The best photos come when kids feel free to play, explore, and just be themselves. I’ll gently guide you and document the magic that unfolds naturally. You’ll see me shooting through snack breaks, wiggles, and giggles — it’s all part of the story.
A few quick tips:
Let them know ahead of time that a new friend will be taking photos.
Pack dry, non-messy snacks and water.
Make sure they’re rested and comfortable.
Timing
Because we’re working with light, it’s so important that we start right on time. Please plan for traffic and parking so you can arrive early and ease into the session without stress.
I can’t wait to capture this part of your story — the love, the connection, the realness of it all. If you have any questions along the way, just reach out. I’m here for you. See you soon!

Your Newborn Session
What to expect
Oh, friend — I’m so honored to be invited into this tender season with you. Your sweet baby is here (or almost here!) and I truly can’t wait to capture all the magic of these early days. Your newborn session will take place in the comfort of your own home — where you’re most relaxed, where your story is unfolding, and where all the little details of this chapter live. My style is natural and gentle, with a fine art feel. I take a lifestyle approach, which means I’ll focus on your connection, the quiet beauty of your love, and all those in-between moments you’ll want to remember forever.
Here is what you can expect...
When I arrive
I’ll take a little time to walk through your home. While I do this, I will be turning off all artificial light, as well as opening up all blinds and curtains. I will be looking for the best pockets of light — usually the couch, your bed, and the nursery are perfect spots. Please don’t stress about cleaning — I promise I’m not here for that. If we need to clear a little space, I’ll gently help move things around as we go. But truly, it’s more about the feeling in the space than how tidy it is. You focus on baby — I’ll take care of the rest.
Your Baby
Your baby is perfect exactly as they are — sleepy, wide-eyed, fussy, or calm — all of it is welcome here. I don’t do complicated posing or try to make babies conform to a certain mold. Instead, I let your baby lead the session and follow their cues. I recommend dressing baby in a soft, neutral onesie (preemie or newborn size usually works best) with no graphics or words.
I also bring along a few beautiful, handpicked knit newborn outfits that you’re more than welcome to use — they photograph so sweetly and add a lovely timeless touch.
I may gently swaddle baby in one of your favorite wraps or take a few near-nude photos if they’re comfortable. Have a few cozy swaddle blankets nearby — textures and layers photograph beautifully. If possible, give baby a full feed about 15 minutes before I arrive, but don’t stress — we’ll take as many breaks as needed. There’s no rush. We move slow and let the moments unfold naturally.
Siblings
As a mom of two, I deeply understand the dynamic shift that happens when a new baby joins the family. I’ll prioritize sibling and full family photos early in the session, while siblings are still fresh and curious. I never force participation — we go at their pace, with lots of patience and play.
A little tip: help your older child feel prepared by letting them know a friend is coming to take photos of the family. It’s best not to surprise them. If they need space, that’s okay. I’ll follow their lead and gently draw them in with warmth and trust.
Mom & Dad
You might be riding the highest highs… and maybe some deep lows, too. The newborn days are breathtaking and beautiful — and also tender, messy, and exhausting. Please know — I see you.
As a doula and a mother myself, I’ve lived this season in both my personal and professional life. I know how big this transition is, and how layered postpartum can feel. You’re likely running on love and little sleep, navigating new rhythms and emotions you didn’t expect. I want you to know that everything you’re feeling is valid. I’m not here to capture perfection — I’m here to reflect back just how stunning your real, raw, everyday love is. You don’t need to perform or be anything other than who you are. Just be present with your baby. That’s more than enough.
What to Wear
Keep it soft and neutral — warm earth tones, browns, creams, greys, soft blues, muted florals — anything that feels like you.
Comfort is key. Bare feet, flowy fabrics, cozy textures — these photograph beautifully and allow you to relax into the moment. Feel free to check out my [ ] for wardrobe inspiration. And if you’re unsure or want to talk through options, I’m more than happy to help you decide.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions at all — no question is too small. I want you to feel supported every step of the way. I truly can’t wait to document this chapter for you.

Your Maternity Session
Pregnancy is a season unlike any other—soft and powerful, joyful and exhausting, all at once. Whether this is your first baby or your fifth, it’s a time worth remembering. These transformative months deserve to be honored, not just because of the bump, but because of the transformation happening in you.
In case we haven’t met yet—hi, I’m Brooke, the heart behind With Love Photography. Alongside photography, I’m also a birth doula, which means I come to these sessions not just with a camera, but with a deep respect for this sacred transition. I see you, mama. And I’m here to hold space for all of it.
Now that your maternity session is on the books, you might have some questions. This guide is here to help you feel at ease, prepared, and even a little excited.
My Approach
You’ll notice from my work that I don’t do stiff poses or overly styled setups. My maternity sessions are calm, intentional, and full of gentle movement. I’ll guide you into beautiful light and natural positions, but I always let the moment unfold. I won’t ever ask you to wear something that doesn’t feel like you or pose in a way that feels uncomfortable. This is about capturing your real beauty, the way you carry your baby, the connection between you and your partner, and the love already blooming in your family.
These are the last photos before everything changes—and they’re just as much about your motherhood journey as they are about the baby growing inside you.
Location
We’ll choose a location that fits your vision and energy. Many families love the wild beauty of the north—open fields, lakeside spots, wooded trails—but if you’d rather stay in and cozy up at home, in-home maternity sessions are pure magic too. They’re calm, intimate, and so personal. We’ll chat about what feels right for you.
Who’s Included
Your maternity session is for you—but also your partner, your little ones (if this isn’t your first), and yes, even your fur babies. If kids are joining us, don’t stress about them being still or perfectly behaved. I welcome their silliness, their wildness, their energy. That’s where the real magic is.
What to Wear
You don’t need anything fancy. Soft dresses, cozy knits, bare feet—whatever feels most like you. I do find that flowing dresses tend to move beautifully and feel comfortable, but there are no rules here. If you’d like a little guidance, I’m always happy to help (and I’ve got a small Pinterest board to get you started). The most important thing is that you feel beautiful and at ease.
If anything comes up before your session—questions, nerves, or last-minute thoughts—I’m just a message away. I can’t wait to witness this moment in your journey and create something meaningful with you.
With Love,
Brooke
