Fine Art School Photos

Let their personality shine!

At With Love Photography, my heart is to offer a thoughtful, boutique experience to the families and schools who choose me to photograph their students here in Duluth, Grand Rapids, and across the Iron Range.

I take on a limited number of Northern Minnesota schools each year so that every family receives care, clear communication, and portraits that feel intentional. This isn’t a big corporate operation with rushed smiles and assembly lines. It’s personal. Calm. Organized. Professional — but deeply human.

My goal is simple: to photograph your child as they truly are.

No forced smiles.
No stiff poses.
No bright, distracting backdrops.

Just your child — their personality, their spark, their quiet confidence — captured naturally in soft, timeless light.

School picture day should feel easy and even a little fun. I create a relaxed environment where children can settle in, feel seen, and be themselves. The result is genuine, emotive portraits that feel nothing like the traditional “cheesy” school photos we’re all used to.

These are images you’ll actually want to frame. 🤍

School Photography FAQ

What services do you offer for schools?

I provide fine art individual student portraits, optional class photos, and staff images. My approach is simple, natural, and child-led — focused on capturing each child’s genuine personality rather than stiff, forced smiles. The result is timeless, artful portraits families will actually want to frame.

How is this different from traditional school photography?

Instead of stiff poses and “say cheese” smiles, my sessions are relaxed and child-led. I gently guide each child, but I leave room for their real expressions to shine through. Every student receives a small gallery of images, and families get to choose the portraits that truly feel like their child — not just the one the school picked.

How do families get their photos?

After picture day, each family receives a private online gallery. From there, you can view your child’s portraits, choose your favorites, and download or order prints directly. Everything is simple, secure, and handled online for a smooth, stress-free experience.

What does the school need to do?

Very little. I provide everything needed for picture day and organize the flow of sessions. Schools receive clear instructions ahead of time so the process runs smoothly.

How many students can you photograph?

I work with schools of all sizes — from small, close-knit preschools to larger elementary campuses. We’ll plan the schedule together to ensure picture day feels organized, efficient, and well-suited to your school community.

When do you book school portraits?

I offer school portrait sessions throughout the school year. Many schools love fall dates, but spring sessions or other times of year work beautifully as well. We’ll choose a date that fits naturally into your school’s rhythm.

What do families pay?

Picture day is complimentary for all families. After galleries are delivered, parents can decide whether they’d like to order prints or digital portraits. Everything is handled online with simple, transparent pricing — so families only invest in what they truly love.

Do you provide extras like class photos or yearbook images?

Absolutely. I offer class and group photos, and I also provide schools with any images needed for yearbooks, staff directories, or websites — all handled smoothly and professionally.
